This is called Banjara Embroidery, done by the women from a thanda (a small south Indian village) who possess a wealth of embroidery knowledge and skill attained through years of practice.
Fabric and Craft: Mangalgiri Handloom. Mangalgiri town in India known as 'The Auspicious Hill,' boasts a five-century legacy of handloom tradition, with materials celebrated for durability, simplistic patterns, and solid colors. Woven exclusively on pit looms, Mangalgiri fabrics hold a unique status. Today, the town plays a vital role in the global textile industry, weaving cultural heritage into every piece.
